The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 把现实主义题材处理得喜剧化某种程度上就是不太尊重其主题。
所有演员的演技都在线，标准的苦情励志片，共情的目的也达到了，和药神的差距只在一个题材上，不够伟大，不能激起更多的思考，当然也属于优秀了，希望文牧野不要陷入公式化电影
讲简单的故事，写复杂的人。这是剧情片的正道。对，《奇迹》是一碗鸡汤，但我很难对它生出讨厌。是，鸡汤无用，不能驱走漫长严冬，但是这个冬天就是这么久，这么冷，我宁愿喝一口鸡汤，暖暖身子。手足冰冷地独对这无边的刺骨寒冷，那滋味，太难受了。

催泪片滚出春节档！挺工整，四字演得也挺好，但总感觉有点薄弱
剧情中规中矩，没有突兀的地方。易烊千玺进步了。
小人物奋斗最终取得了成功，兄妹情的表露也很自然，奋斗的过程就是真正的现实，结局虽有些理想化，但电影就是这样，来源于生活又高于生活
前半段叙事非常强，后半段又过渡煽情，看完反而有些显假。

文牧野最会挑时机
当然比起药神还是有所差距 最明显的就是太难以共情 且不说这个拆手机作坊的用处如何 且说这样能做成。我还是对他们之后能成立公司成功报怀疑态度。 当然 造梦嘛 给奋斗者们灌碗鸡汤也是可以。
四字弟弟演技真好啊，从《少年的你》延续而来的“人狠话不多”性格真适合他，成了他的影剧粉，多打1🌟给他。电影节奏舒适，点面具到，配角也都很可爱，全片洋溢着年轻和奋斗的深圳气质。偶有尴尬情节比如轮椅老爷子打群架、最后电梯里360度欢呼等稍显刻意。最大败笔是最后弄得好像真人真事改编似的非要人人强安个结局特别扯，就留在合影一幕不好吗？
在每一个筋疲力尽的时候，撑住！在每一个苦不堪言的时候，挺住！不要放弃，可能真的有逆风翻盘的那一天！这是一部让人感动哭又欣慰笑的电影，易烊千玺的演技又一次质的飞跃！很棒！
