The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 出乎意料的好看，从《鮀恋》到《我妈》，同样的创作母题，十年过去，展现出潮语电影全方位的进步。

一部说不上出色但还算有趣的小片，纵然剧作可能有点落入俗套，但好在潮汕方言的加成以及各个人物形象的鲜活都是加分项，无论是不会说普通话的妈妈还是通情达理的奶奶，在角色塑造上甚至都要好过男女主角，整部片子也从没脱离烟火气。当然，区域习俗可能并非像片中一样容易被逾越，但世界本来就是这么一点一点改变的，在改变到来的时候，能做到拥抱改变就好。

用十分朴素的方法讲了一个十分朴素地故事，搭配起来刚刚好
1.离异外地女友遇见潮汕妈妈，难比出柜。2.粿、卤水、拜老爷、生儿子、小舅舅、做生意……潮汕文化一窥。3.大团圆结局。终结在机场分别，去掉杭州一段会更真实。爱情本来就很难。
