The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 对比科长的山河故人，以及近年好莱坞众多同类电影，涉足荒野之类，本片只能算是顺利完成作业。前三分之二都还保持水准，然后过多的渲染情绪的配乐，就像女性导演不自知的感性一样，让电影逐渐落入不可挽回的俗套，离表达的命题也越来越远。但这种电影，我国也就科长能拍出一部，娄烨拍出半部。ps，乔尔他老婆演起这种片，可比科长老婆水准高太多，演过她老公兄弟那么多片子，弗兰西斯依旧保持独有的特质，堪称美国电影界的女版陈道明也不为过。

其实情节一般，但是节奏好，拍出了一种不哀不伤的人生态度。
