The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 我遗憾自己看的居然是普通话版，难怪总有点出戏。
正片开始的俯视镜头与仰视镜头拍得还挺有电影感的，也便留下还不错的初印象，哪知随后就逐渐被跳跃的剪辑手法败坏了好感……哎，《不速来客》于我终究还是没能成为《无名之辈》。
结构、悬念和气氛渲染都不错，演员演技也都在线，真相略显简单。范伟老师加一星。
对同工同酬的抗争也把观众的视线带到了平时忽视之处。每一块金牌掰开都是血与汗，正常人运动员退役了之后都很难立足，何况是残障人。一次充满了人性光辉的社会性聚焦。
致敬苏桦伟，了不起！苏母很伟大，赞！教练不容易，辛苦了。下午陪孩子一起看了该片，特此记录。
虽然算不上十分惊艳，但是还算是挺有趣的，就是整部电影的氛围都比较荒诞，毫无真实感和紧张感。
其实苏妈和苏是不幸中的大幸，因为他们找到了属于自己的天赋。现实中有很多比苏桦伟更残疾的障碍人士，所以有很多比苏妈更绝望的妈妈们，她们每一个都很伟大。

勉强还成。但主创对网状叙事貌似有什么误会，只是靠不断切换视角、不断回溯、不断提供新信息是远远不够的。结构的组接一定要有“意料之外、情理之中”的惊喜感才可以。
这些关于母爱的励志电影，我可以从头哭到尾……
和同期的《扬名立万》很像，都是把简单的故事换个讲法，真相其实很简单，重点是叙事手法。

剧本很棒。扎实的悬疑片还加入了足够喜剧元素能让人笑出来，几次反转也不是很容易猜到。打戏全部用慢镜头很有特点。窦骁浑身的荷尔蒙～
后面的彩蛋真没有必要。
北京冬残奥会开始了
虽说故事挺好的，好像也必须套用这样不断回溯的方式层层剥开，正是因为这个讲述方式故事才好看。可也是因为这种方式一而再再而三地来回翻，让故事很无聊。
作为新人导演挺不错的，虽然情节深究起来有不通顺的地方，比如张颂文是前jc为什么还这么一意孤行强行制造是反派的悬疑、朱珠怎么被杀的，有些反转安排的比较生硬刻意，比如被关厕所、张颂文竟然一直晕着、小马几次过于刻意的对老李说相似的话……但是整个故事的完成度是及格的，主演们表演上也没有太拉垮的，让人惊喜的设计也有很多，喜欢开头拍巴掌、老李凑到小马耳边介绍张总、打火机点烟这几处。摄影和剪辑比较普通，大量的慢镜头实在是败笔，孩子们出现时蛮震撼的，但是并没有深入去探讨，有点可惜。
这评分比《扬名立万》低我确实没想到，加新事件就加吧，《扬名立万》围绕同一件事原地踏步了整部电影
