The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? With a keen eye and fresh take, Aselton’s directorial debut shines with crisp storytelling and fine-tuned performances. Home. Is it just a word, or is it something you carry within you? 漂泊不是无家可归，而是带着家上路。期待很高，但看完略有些失望。电影通片“情绪流”，缺少真正有力量的文本支撑；视听方面给我的感觉是中规中矩，钢琴配乐不贴剧情且在很多时候都显得多余（正面例子是断背山的吉他配乐）。相似题材更喜欢另一位女导演Debra Granik的那部《不留痕迹》。

有趣的是，片中讲到那些创造了美国的伟大精神，先进沦为边缘，无依无靠，而这样一个故事的叙述者，来自外来移民。

观影过程中几度产生一种莫名的熟悉感，直到配乐第一次奏起才恍然大悟，这种孤寂与平静的诗意与Ludovico的作曲如出一辙。从有些本末倒置的角度来说，Nomadland是对鲁叔作曲的一次满分影像化表达。
慢慢的成纪录片式的展开美国中西部的普通人故事。我也是从一个矿业小镇出来的，如今很久没有回去了。

不觉得拍的有多好，能得奖只能说选题好，聚焦那些四处流浪的房车客，有年轻面孔也有老人，反正各有理由无法停留某个地方，表演感很突出清楚这是假的，但我知道这些人是存在的，能产生共情，我期待这题材能拍出更棒的影片

内敛而忧伤。配上宁静忧郁的音乐，想着如果相同的故事也在中国西部上演。。。
气氛还是有点味道的，不过始终对这种散文式电影没啥感觉。
