The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 只能讲不愧是薛景球，这么弱的剧本都能演这么出色，他是有行为逻辑自洽的。题材角度也不错，这些社会精英阶层的家庭自私又贪婪，即使跌落神坛也无法与普通人共情，很现实，就凭这点就甩国影十几条街。
好久没有看过这么爽的电影了，情节环环相扣，节奏不拖拉，鉴宝特效锦上添花，演员们选的也都很好，真的被李现帅到了，近期看过最好看的电影了

反转再反转让故事背后的力量大打折扣，最后的那次反转其实没必要。赤裸裸地展现了人性的恶，就是过程没什么逻辑性

除了葛优没啥亮点，剧版的主线剧情，猜的到结尾却看不懂过程。全片镜头七八十年代的感觉，却搞那些花里胡哨的特效有点不大和谐。他爹消失二十年的原因还是不太明白，是我太笨了？
咱也不知道石包玉是什么高科技产品，更没有看过什么夺宝奇兵类型片，只知道前后左右的观众都在叹气。其实主演布景都还挺不错，还是怪导演编剧吧。

薛景求独角戏，其他角色都很单薄，但演员演技都不错，校园暴力里旁观不作为的也是有错的。
中学时候那一段
反转反转再反转，除了小白实习老师竟真的从学生到家长到校方全员恶人。故事本身是中规中矩的校园暴力案，叙述则更多是家长间的斗智斗勇，3星标准，多给一颗星给薛景求。
昨天买的预售的票，今天刚刚看完，真的太过瘾了，超过期待好多好多，今年最好看的电影，没有之一，虽然没看过原著，但是剧情真的很过瘾，葛大爷往那一站就是古董，雷大头演技也杠杠的，最让人吃惊的是李现，不太了解他，只知道现男友这个代名词，今天让药不然把我帅疯了，演技也很可，总而言之太哇塞了，哈哈，值得一看(到现在还在激动，沉浸在药不然美色中)😂
从一开始纯粹欣赏西装革履的薛景求的颜值，到随着剧情发展越看越生气，尤其开庭那一段作伪证真的是看得好郁闷，结果又急转直下本以为正义得到了伸张...还是小看你们韩影的阴暗面了。结局强行为了反转而反转，不过毕竟全员恶人倒是削弱了之前的愤慨。校园霸凌题材的另一种视角，聚焦幕后上位者家长们掌控全局的强权，丑恶的更是操纵社会的所谓模范父母。本来相惜的好基友就这样变成了be，被霸凌者换位成旁观者，又成为了最终的加害者，唏嘘。虽然不够好也不算差，老薛的角色几次做出的选择过于真实却也让人又怜又恨，一如既往的优秀演出，尤其庭审部分的控诉很有感染力。
在本片中，正义不是通过正当的方式获得的，而是通过人性博弈的方式，这很残酷，也很符合现实。
3.特效做的不错，扣题。
情节简单，有点俗套，结尾台词很好，其中那句，两个有共同过去的人，回忆也不一样，耐人寻味。总体来讲，还行。
比较失望，虽然欺凌场景表现得很残忍露骨，但故事本身太粗糙，乏善可陈，靠一些反转来提升观赏性，遭受霸凌的学生形象有点《猪猡之王》的变奏，薛叔人物心理经历了真实的一波三折还算立体，其他形象都太脸谱化。
我人生中但凡有一秒可以不喜欢这种深爱却又不得不be的文学 我都会好过得多🥶
