The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 女主人的焦虑也许就是湾湾的无奈，既要生计去赚大陆的钱，又放不下American dream，自己身体更是每况愈下，未来的路如何走？谁又知道呢。
想说的东西太多，文化差异、家庭矛盾、母女关系、青春期叛逆、经济下行、病毒流感等等……不能把自己的人生拍一遍，这样观众很累，导演也很累。
林嘉欣真是太可惜了，一代港星女神里少有演技好的，却错过了整个黄金时代。

情绪上编排的其实有些无厘头，没有重点，算是比较平实的讲出一些家长里短。具有很典型的女导演剧本风格。和赵婷的差距就在这里。
吵架还是拍得不错的，但是突然就好了也有一点突兀，为啥庄凯勋说话那么像张震
从故事到表演都没有留下太深印象的小品。“同龄人电影”这个属性这一回没有加分。
父母没有觉察到这一点，更没有把孩子当成和自己一样的人，想要用权威控制TA们，使用所有沟通方法中，最没有效，最伤人的方法，用情绪对抗情绪。
近几年来，台湾电影颇有中兴之势，其深层原因，很可能与18年金马事件有关。大陆的终止合作，使得不少台湾电影人才回归本岛。有人才有戏，这是无可辩驳的道理。
这种不好好说话的状态我在我妈身上见过太多次，很难说是因为电影里写实台词带来的的情绪共鸣还是它就是没那么好带来的抗拒，我三只手都选瀑布。
