The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 影片極富創造力在輕巧、荒誕和幽默中包里著命運的時代悲劇，亦能映照至當下的現實。荒誕的藝術，光怪陸離的社會變遷，《霸王別姬》的隔空對唱，模糊舞臺和熒幕的撲面而來的丁達爾效應，極具個人色彩和地方特色的空靈的戲夢版的表達，細節和記憶點很多，非常大膽。
旧戏新唱周复始，真作假时假亦真。一股鬼气。
比起戳破强奸犯的谎言，这个片子更精彩的部分是戳破丈夫的谎言。嘲讽拉满，特别悲凉的地方又特别好笑。女主演得太好了！

太有趣太厉害了，看完我都觉得我是四川话大师！前半部分荒诞，后半部部分现实的可怕。
“韦斯安德森式霸王别姬”。作为四川人完全无法理性评价的一部电影，充满鬼气，看完手脚发凉。

没想到这部电影的余韵会这么长，看完一阵了，脑袋里还会回味一些情节，感慨当下与那个时代那么遥远又那么相似…
司机仿佛是个工具人。看似成为大本新宠，其实不过是本马达情趣play的道具。我的天啊，这还不嗑啊，kswl本马达。老雷的倾向大家还不知道吗，老雷想表现什么主题大家还不知道吗？很粗暴但是很有效。全员（除了大本）奉献了很有层次看得人身心舒爽的表演，尤其是朱迪科默。14世纪女性无论有多高贵，命运还是由残酷又虚荣的小男孩决定，the truth. （所有人都要变着法子夸司机好看，司机是什么新时代滚娘……
天翻地，日月更，阴阳殊途，数十载一眼忘川，换了人间。
坐在影片档案馆里，听四川话配音、读英文字幕、还在银幕上看到初中同学，时间和空间都被打乱捏碎，投给了这场历史与虚构编织的盛宴。
让我们看看本马达二十多年后会不会再次一起站在最佳改编剧本的领奖台上
