Carol Jeffries (known as 'Jeff') is a naive American woman staying in the Phillipines. She is given ten years in prison after being set up by her drug-dealer boyfriend, Rudy. In Women In Cages, Grier plays the sadistic warden for once, a pot-smoking lesbian with a fully-equipped torture chamber (including a guillotine!). The 'New Fish' (a recent inmate, for you prison film novices), a ditzy blonde ex-stripper called Alabama, has taken the heroin possession rap for her pimp boyfriend. She knows too much, so the pimp blackmails her cellmates to execute her. A competent and well-shot entry in the tropical prison genre from Filipino director Gerry De Leon, it places the embittered ex-addict and prostitute Grier in the position of slave owner, watching her white charges toiling away in the plantation with obvious ironic glee.

7.0 / 松竹 100th Anniversary 纪念作品，山田洋次信手拈来的行活，《开罗紫玫瑰》拍摄失败版的幕后故事。和《电影天地》一样让人又笑又哭，我这一排观众都在时不时抹泪，最后结合新冠还蛮有现实意义的。不过还是很想不通为什么菅田将晖就变成这样一个讨人厌的糟老头子了。@BJIFF2021
“想拍电影的都不是什么正经人。”话说我在考浙传一个专业笔试的时候，题目应该是写一个电影构思，里面我也写了“演员从银幕里走了出来”这种当时觉得绝妙的点子，也说了这是致敬巴斯特·基顿的《福尔摩斯二世》。那时的我跟电影里兴奋讲述自己剧本的乡狠狠地共情了，当然最后这个专业没拿证哈哈哈。这是一部拍给爱电影的人，更是拍给学电影、拍电影的人看的电影，即使没那么精妙绝伦，但对于我来说，很难不感动。
既有对电影的感情，也有人生五味杂陈，因身边有相信的人最终绽放与释怀的温情。
但是除了男主别的都是纸片人。
男主角的放弃和得奖两个转折生硬。
拍电影到底要不要才华呢？才华又究竟是什么呢？（看过太多菅田将晖的作品综艺视频，还是差点被这个角色摧毁我对他的信念
好像在情绪烘到极点的颁奖典礼上说几句获奖感言就能把丈夫父亲角色失位的事实一笔勾销一样，这不就是失忆的苏大强吗？
穿越到拍摄现场那些段落都很喜欢 电影里每一个画面都是电影人干出来的啊…虽然是个小众艺术，但是有那么多人都爱它如生命啊

剧情很俗套且充满着自我感动，像男主这种混蛋人设，导演还妄想用所谓“电影之神”的情怀来打动观众吗？如果没有菅田将晖压根不会看。
劇情不出彩 依舊為日式誇張演技和女性角色隱忍設定 不過還是被感動的一塌糊塗…
还有两个比较个人的point。一是很久没见到的今井翼，大眼睛醒目忍不住一直盯着看。一是最后纪念了本来要出演老年主人公的志村健，结合片中后半段的现实背景实在唏嘘...
先不管老流氓咋来的了，看电影看到死，还是被原节子带走，感谢电影之神照顾此生啊
