The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 一星是风景好看和画质有种胶片的感觉
画面质感像80年代，剧情一般，血浆也不多，感觉欧美血浆片好多年没什么精品了
只有最后五分钟好看，就算是a片也不带这种精彩画面比例吧！
不够带劲，而且这老年人床戏简直是精神污染。
80年代真的是黄金时代，同样是青春少女遭遇变态杀手虐杀的题材，《X》在80年代的滤镜下拍得如此让人耳目一新，不再是纯粹地玩血浆了。电影的剪辑手法独特，平行叙述玩得溜，特别是屋子里的人在唱歌和别墅里的老太太一同出现在屏幕上的场景。黑色幽默几乎贯穿了整部电影，既恐怖又搞笑。毫无疑问，这是今年目前为止最好的恐怖片。
年轻是美，是永恒，是无限的生命与活力，谁不渴望呢
挺有意思的，导演比想象的认真，就是有点慢。接下来两部也都会跟着看的，下次就有机会去电影院支持了
「赋予行为以动机」恐怕是新世纪恐怖片始终贯彻的一个基本点，而本片在怀旧滤镜之外，试图挖掘出「垮掉的一代」的心灵根源，以及更大的人类共情——「生命的激情」，这样的情感的确是会变异成妖的。
大尺度血腥画面:★★★
烂番茄100%？没感觉哪里惊喜，很多情节桥段都似曾相识。。一群人去荒郊野岭，变态boss逐个击破，最后被女主反杀。。四五十年了都是这个套路啊。。
切入点倒是挺独特的，不灭的嫉妒与溺爱。故事的叙述有点儿缺重点，太流水账了。
在俗套的情节里还是拍出了些许新意 虽然没有改变俗套 但也有小惊喜 如果最后黑人兄弟逃出生天完全套路性转就有趣了
情色片和恐怖片，看起来完全不搭的类型就这样强行贴在一起实在是艺术感满满。啊人啊年轻的时候还是不要太瘦，这样老了还是可以有点存货的。
杀戮戏剪辑一流。犯罪动机带出的社会议题，真实而猎奇
⒈前往乡下拍摄“爱情电影”，结果摄像师女友要下海，摄像师想要逃离现实，结果被变态老夫妇杀害，然后像是开启开关一般，虐杀正式开始，最终老头心脏病突发，老妪被卡车碾死，只剩下一个女子逃离；
Sex的确会影响到人的生活观念，更不用说还是在1979年。本片又一次证明人性之恶比鬼神更恐怖。
一个工业流水线产品，像黄片一样；还以为模仿惊魂记，宗教，电视，电影，性欲各种元素掺杂，性欲满足不了杀人来满足……俩老东西哪来这么大劲头，几个年轻人打不过老东西，无脑白痴人设
情色、恐怖、暴力等元素的杂糅。可以两倍速观看。
emmm，未成年就别看了，看的时候，如果跟家里人一起住的人，建议你还是带着耳机看吧，拍小电影剧组与变态杀人魔的对决。
