The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 一集美剧拍成了一部电影，典型的铺垫一小时只有结尾高潮，烂片不应该搞开放式结局不如明确一些。女黑人的戏份简直就是多余，用来凑时长的，反而使电影显得很拖沓，毕竟电影结束了她都没有再次出现。女主角最后的复仇很爽，尤其是献祭了雷德，但是，这个恶魔/怪物都现身了，怎么这么废物，居然被女主角吓得缩回去了，它只敢对抗毫无抵抗力的奴隶啊，好吧，他只敢对付无法战胜心理恐惧的人，整体太拖了，90分钟都不到的电影，居然铺垫了那么久，以及恐怖程度一般，还有，这片有悬疑吗？？？这盒子都是明示了
我还等着看女主惨死呢，结果反杀了，这是我看过最烂的结局，如果你在恐怖片里设计一个特别气人的主角最后还没杀掉她解气，那你设计干嘛
故事没有深入，反杀也没什么逻辑。其实这部电影的剧情，还有很大提升的空间。
其实还是有点点意思，但是女主害人精真的看得气死，真想一枪崩了
近期看过的最佳恐怖片，说唱歌手的蹩脚韵脚搭配血腥残酷的画面简直又离谱又搞笑
片子不烂，但是你要熬过疯子女主前面10分钟的戏份，后面高能一波接一波，想象力，血腥度都还可以，又好笑又吓人，

前两天看的，这个怪物是真的很拽很有意思。前面乍一看是女头蜘蛛身，其实背后是有很粗很扁形状像毛毛虫，花纹像蜈蚣的扁尾巴，肚子里还有一个头才是用来吃人的入口。吃人也很有仪式感，不紧不慢的等人完全催眠了再吃。女头的作用大概就是好看和把被吃的人头扶住让肚子里的怪物对准了方便吃。（剧情比较挫）
最后直播弹幕是ending credits
前面太冗长拖沓了，比较无聊，后面快结束了才精彩起来，总体一般般，低成本制作小电影
个人比较喜欢的小成本佳作，主要是做怪物设定的设计师深得寂静岭的视觉语言，错位的肢体、被遮蔽的五官、放大的上下颚，特别像寂静岭4那种风格，女主对母亲的愧疚和恐惧的具象化无处不在，献祭仪式与杀人旅馆结合，天花的玻璃挺漂亮，节奏属于后段才爆发的类型，其实特效化妆挺用心，血腥指数也有4星
魔鬼只能对善良的人下手而已，特别针对信任的人进行剥削，黑人女&厂老板本质都跟魔鬼立场是一致的。
以低成本的电影来说，这部真的不差，故事也很好

疯疯的女主还有点可爱
前面墨迹了一点，总是梦境里吓人，后来还行，起码挺有逻辑
太疯批了，主要是没一秒能看清画面，而且也不是行车记录仪啊
还行吧，就怪物的造型眼前一亮。很多东西过多铺垫。
