The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 片名真是直接又准确，狗狗片，却不是那种卖惨的煽情片。PTSD是美国大兵的常规职业病，这次选了一个有趣的视角，用功勋犬来相互治愈也算是另辟蹊径。而且整体做的都很简单到位。学会和狗狗交流，才能放下执念，放过自己。

美式翻拍标准答卷一例，想在背景、剧情细节和表演上做得更完满一些，其实反而失了趣味。

有狗狗元素的公路电影样板戏，每一幕都似曾相识，没有滋味。
还行吧，细节处理的不好，所以没有什么代入感。
成本也太低了，一个人对着一部电话撑完了整片
曾经有过自己的狗狗～冠自己的姓，正式起名字，而不是只叫汪汪辣么随意……虽然仅有短短一段时间，但多少次梦里都会有它～于是也更看这样的片子被催泪，更何况男主的壮硕，绝对非娘气那种，受战争的伤看着心疼。
长达一个半小时的杰克·吉伦哈尔演技大赏，90%以上都和原版差不多的内容，人物性格和结局的人改动也让这部翻拍的可看性更加丰富，但比起原版没有那么具有真实感和融入感。
