The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 又是一部成人通过儿童找寻自我的电影，和熊孩子在一起的时光，看得我好焦虑
或许是出于某种奇怪的刻板印象，叔侄关系的一对人物被搬上银幕，总让我觉得导演有颗拍公路片的心。说到本片，主题其实仍然是类似的，无非就是身陷囹圄的成年人被少不更事的孩子治愈（严重一点就是救赎）的故事，全片采用黑白色调就显得非常没有必要，完全起不到氛围严肃的作用，为何不干脆随大流使用干净明亮的色彩呢？不明白导演的用意何在。
以儿童为中心的具体生活，它向我们展开的过程中揭示了属于真实世界的根本命题，死亡、离别、爱。同时夹带着对几个城市的凝视、对人类未来的信仰。非常喜欢。
